Before Yogi Parenting...
On an average morning before going out to run errands or take the kids to school, you might have said, “Please put on your shoes so we can go." (one min later) "PUT ON YOUR SHOES!" ( three minutes later...) "How many times do I have to ask you to put on your shoes!?? It is almost time for school. We are really running late. COME ON!"
After Yogi Parenting...
...you would know how to: 1) TALK to your children in a way that they can best HEAR you and 2) ENROLL them in everyday tasks. 3) be the GUIDE BY THE SIDE instead of the SAGE ON THE STAGE. 4) LET GO of being the one that makes things happen...hovering over to make sure all that needs doing is done. 4) STOP, get present and take a DEEP BREATH when things start to feel a little crazy 5) ALLOW your kids to experience the natural consequences of their actions.
In this example that might entail being late for school or setting up boundaries with your children the night before that let them know they will need to be on time for school if they would like to enjoy playdates with friends after school anytime that week. Once you learn the basic principles of yogiparenting, you are free to allow consequences for your child's choices to do the work of teaching them in various situations about making good choices. You are free to be your child's GUIDE BY THE SIDE, disengaged from the power struggle. This positive form of discipline will help to keep you IN relationship with your child instead of pushing them away when they need you most. Yogi Parenting will also help you to encourage your child to listen to thier intuition by making choices and then experiencing the consequences of their actions. The end result makes learning, living and loving easier and more fun for you and your children. By apply the principles of Yogi Parenting to your life you will learn how to take once stressful family routines and allow them to draw you CLOSER.
Monthly Parenting Classes and eBook...Both Make Alot of Sense! For many of us, parenting as a partnership with our children as opposed to a domination of them may be very different than the approach we grew up with. In fact, we may have never truely seen this way of parenting modeled in our entire lives. For this reason, like with learning any new skill, it is important for us to...that's right...to PRACTICE.
And the best way for you to realize your hopes of parenting in partnership with your children is to break from parenting from what often seems like a knee jerk reaction. Learning a new way of parenting, other than the way you might have been raised, takes consistent and repeated exposure. It is just like learning any new skill...like riding a bike. By enrolling in this monthly class, you will receive regular exposure to examples of parenting the Yogi way. When you purchase the Yogi Parenting eBook, you become part of the Yogi Parenting Community of parents all striving to raise their children with this positive parenting approach. Both options allow you to enjoy the benfits of community, sharing your questions, comments, concerns and insites and build new friendships with other parents. You and your family can practice new way of seeing and thinking and responding with the assistance of a teacher to guide you...training wheels if you may with the additional support of co-founders, coaches and your biggest cheerleaders/supporters Michaela Turner and Suzanne Tucker.
