Therapeutic Yoga

Yoga is appropriate for anyone regardless of age

and physical ability.

Classes and private instruction offered for people with all amounts of yoga experience - or with none. People with experience will be expertly supported and challenged. Newcomers will be gently introduced to yoga. People with special therapeutic concerns will be safely guided through modifications of the forms to fit their needs.

Education: Yoga training through

White Lotus Foundation and YogaMaze 

Jan has over two decades experience teaching and practicing yoga and meditation, and over 1,000 hours of high level training. Most of her training has emphasized alignment and functional movement based yoga. 

She understands yoga anatomy and injury prevention. Jan has taught all over St Louis since 1997, and at many yoga retreats in the Midwest.  She also teaches workshops, and mentors yoga teachers.

PRIVATE YOGA INSTRUCTION

Individual instruction without a class

You may start yoga with doctor approval during or after medical, physical therapy, or chiropractic care.

Sign up for private yoga if you want to:

  • Have specific introduction to yoga or meditation

  • Focus on more than one attention after injury or chronic pain before going back to regular yoga or group classes

  • Receive mentoring and education support in specific therapeutic or intermediate yoga methods

PRIVATE SMALL GROUP YOGA CLASSES
3 to 7 people

Class will focus on individual goals 

Learn to keep your body safe from injury and to optimize yoga benefits

Sign up for this class if you are:

  • A fit person looking to start a yoga practice and learn in an individualized setting 

  • Experienced yoga students or yoga teachers needing modifications to their form and practice due to injury

  • Advanced yoga students or teachers seeking to deepen their yoga practice, receive mentoring, develop strategies to access certain yoga poses or learn about yoga philosophy, meditation, pranayama( yoga breathing techniques)  

3 & 6-WEEK GROUP YOGA COURSES

  • Deepen Your Yoga Practice Series (Experienced)

    • Experienced, physically fit students only​

  • Introduction-to-yoga Series (Basic)

    •  Learn basic yoga forms and your inner actions to safely do them

All Courses Include homework, audio, and video support.

These are continuous groups. 

Commitment to attend a minimum 80% of course yields maximum results.

SPECIAL EVENT OR OTHER LOCATION YOGA

Gather a small group of friends and set a time for a yoga class. 

This can be a one-time event or semi-regular experience.  

Class course and focus can be co-created by group leader, participants, and Jan.

Small group and private yoga sessions are by appointment. Please schedule with Jan.
